Welcome to Junicorn Farms where we've planted our first crop: SUNFLOWERS!
Grown without herbicides or pesticides, you might see some signs of prior use by bugs 🐜 and bees 🐝 because if you can't beat 'em, join 'em! (We never really wanted to beat them anyway - we love our bees. 🐝 🐝 🐝
The seeds were sourced from American Meadows and Urban Farmer.
We chose four heirlooms, pollen-producing varieties including:
Autumn Beauty
Henry Wilde
Red Sun
Velvet Queen
We planted the seeds on the first day of summer (June 21).
At planting the seeds were side-dressed with 150lbs of 5-10-10 fertilizer.
